Search Engine Optimization Methodology

1. Analysis of the existing website

Your existing website would be analyzed based on parameters like the number of pages indexed, keyword rankings, internal link structure and external links. Competition analysis would also be done at this stage.

2. Identifying keywords

3. On page Optimization

This stage involves optimization of all the internal features of your website. This stage involves,

  • Optimization of Title tags

  • Optimization of Alt tags
  • Optimization of Anchor tags
  • Optimization of Content (very important in Search Engine Optimization)
  • Optimization of internal linking and navigation structure

4. Link Building

This stage, which involves getting backlinks from other websites, would be the longest and the most important one in Search Engine Optimization. The more number of links you get from good websites, the better your rating would be. The quality of backlinks is dependent on a number of factors like the link phrase by which people link to your site, the quality of the site that you link to and of course the quantity of back links. There are four ways to get links from other websites.

  • Submitting to directories – your website would have to be listed in the best and the most relevant directories to get more visibility.
  • Reciprocal linking – At times, you would not get links from certain sites unless you link back to them. This is reciprocal linking. But too much of reciprocal linking could just clutter your website.
  • Paid listing in directories – Some of the better known directories charge you for listing your website on it. This would help to get more online visibility in the short term.
  • Buying media space – There are websites willing to link to your webpages from theirs, provided you pay them a fixed fee. This method should be used sparingly and should be dependant on the popularity of the website that you get the link from.

5. Reporting
