In the years before the dawning of the internet and the World Wide Web, advertisements and advertising were specific to the print, television and radio industries. Advertisements could only be seen in print material such as, newspapers, magazines, flyers, catalogues, billboards etc. Advertisements were also a telecasted on televisions.

But there was one drawback in this type of advertising. It was cumbersome to measure how effective the advertisement had been. It was also difficult to estimate how people responded, how many people took an action such as, placing an order or calling on the number after seeing the advertisement.

Measurement in Online World

But fortunately this is not the case of online advertising, which offers tremendous amount of data. Such data can be evaluated, measured, summarized, compared, contrasted, extrapolated or drilled into. This data can be summarized, analyzed, shared and understood by using reports. At Nabler, we offer Web Analytics Reporting Services.

Depending on the type of online data, there are different kinds of reports available. Some examples of such reports are Home page reports, Keyword Analysis report, Campaign report, Funnel analysis, Path analysis, Internal search analysis, Natural search engine traffic report, ROI report, Daily Health check, Page on time report and many such reports. Regular and Ad Hoc Reports are also some other reports which are available.

Web Analytics Reporting and Analysis Methodology

1. Consulting the Stakeholders about KPI’s

At Nabler, before we start generating reports, we consult our customers and ask them about the specific stakeholders or managers who would be looking at the report. We would then ask the stakeholders about the Key Performance Indicators that they wish to know. After finding out these requirements we generate the reports.

2. Designing the Reports

In Reporting and Analysis process, the Nabler Team will first decide on the number and type of reports. The next step would be designing the reports. If our customers are not interested in full-scale reports, we can also create simple dashboards which will include only significant information.

The difference between dashboards and reports lies in certain factors. While reports are detailed and exhaustive, dashboards are simple and contain summarized information. Reports also contain detailed analyses about the different sections in the website. Specific information for the different stakeholders of the customer company is also included in the reports.

3. Data Collection process

The Nabler Team will then begin the Data Collection Process. We will collect data by using the web analytics software that you are using. We can also suggest suitable software which will meet your analytical requirements. Apart from this, we can also configure the software. This will enable you to get precise and significant information.

4. Data Auditing

The next stage is data auditing, where the collected data would be audited to check for common errors and irrelevant visits. The data would also be audited for any other errors which can have an effect on the accuracy level of the report. Even after this stage has been completed, checking the accuracy of the data will be performed at regular intervals and would be carried out in an orderly manner. This process is part of the web analytics process.

5. Ad hoc reports

At Nabler, we can generate Ad Hoc Reports, based on the specific requirements, given by a particular customer. For example, you are an important stakeholder in your organization. At some point, you meet a viable customer from a famous company. After your meeting, you would be interested to know if this particular customer came to your website, what did he/ she check and read on the website and what were his/her areas of interest on the website. This is an example of an Ad Hoc report. We can also provide reports for your other requirements, such as, how some new banners on your homepage or website performed, how a campaign that you started is sending traffic, how a new section added on your site performed etc.

6. Analysis

Analysis is the most important aspect in this process. Without analysis it would be useless to generate reports. In this stage, the Nabler Team will analyze the data in the report and will given a final analysis of the statistics. The analysis talks about the “WHY” aspect of these statistics. For example, why has there been no traffic for a particular page? Why is a particular banner not effective? Why have there been fewer visitors to a particular section? This analysis is very important, as it enables our customer to take informed decisions on what has to be done to the website to make it more effective. This has been termed as “Optimizing the Website”. At Nabler, we conduct analysis for regular and ad hoc reports.
